Associations

Lighthouse Conferencing has been in business since 2009.  We have learned a lot in the last 7 years.  We have a quirky sense of humor that our clients like.  We focus on customer service and experience.  We are always looking ahead to help our clients and partners improve their communications, collaborations, and engagements.  And we really tend to send too many gifs to each other to try and one up the previous (just a quick note, our Client Success Guru, Jackson Gonda, is currently the leader in awesome gifs).

We have also learned that we are a great partner for some specific companies and groups out there.  One that I have noticed recently is that we have been able to help state and national associations in a lot of different ways. Associations are great partners for Lighthouse…they have dispersed members, a wealth of information that can be (and needs to be) shared amongst their members, and a serious itch to investigate potential solutions that can help them engage, retain, and recruit members.

I was reading this article the other day from Entrepreneur and one thing that stuck out to me was that 31% of millennials feel that most associations and groups out there lacked technology.  Well, this is where Lighthouse comes in!  As an industry leader in cutting edge collaboration service Lighthouse has been able to add a fresh dynamic when it comes to association communication needs.  Let’s take a quick look at where we are able to help, shall we?

Virtual Engagement and Events

I have been raving about this technology in my first few blogs since joining the Lighthouse team.  Trade shows, job fairs, recruiting events, intranet/internal communications…the use cases have been all over the place.  When we have talked to our partners in associations they all have a large annual event (hopefully somewhere warm and sunny) where everyone comes together to exchange big ideas and industry best practices and…maybe a cocktail.  Well, why does that kind of interaction only have to happen once a year?  New ideas are being formulated every day!  Why limit the number of times your members can exchange the next concept that could transform your industry?  Virtual engagement conferencing can be up and running 24/7.  You can host live webcasting and webinar events, large auditorium seminars, gamification, and original content for your members.  And you can use them as a recruiting platform nationally (and even globally) to expose potential members to the benefits joining!

Webcasts

Nearly every association site I go to has a list of upcoming webinars, and I sort of want to yell “WHY???  Why promote these unengaging events???  NECESSARY EVIL!”.  Well, we have found that our partners in associations are really starting to see the value in webcasting (if you need a quick refresher on webcasting and why it’s awesome, check out this post). The brand experience is what I think has been the biggest differentiator for our clients.  The ability to completely brand this online event and scale to thousands of people?  And potentially offer video?  The production alone creates a rich and immersive experience that you just don’t get with a PowerPoint and a few polling questions.

Web Conferencing

Okay, I know I sort of just bashed webinars and the root technology of those are web conferencing platforms.  But hear me out….I am not bashing the technology, I am just saying that there are better solutions for certain types of meetings. That’s all.  Web conferencing is still a very valuable day to day collaboration tool.  And the one thing I will say is that it is still a great way to get small groups of thought leaders together to share ideas.  Interactivity is still key and web conferencing is an easy way for people to fine tune and share ideas before taking them to the masses (your member base!).

And the last thing I want to focus on is support.  You will not find a better partner than Lighthouse.  I promise you that. We are personally invested in the successes of our clients and partners.  We want to be a part of changing the world, one big idea at a time.  Also, once we work together, I promise you will see some pretty clever gifs from our team.  What else can you ask for?
