Excited Virtual Events

We have spent so much time since January writing about what we are excited about at Lighthouse Conferencing.  Virtual events, virtual environments, webcasting, and our “white glove” support.  The capabilities and reach of these types of solutions really gets the team out of bed in the morning.  Jackson and I have both been blogging about a few of our use cases recently, and honestly, they are really fun!  We have had conversations with large Fortune 1000 companies, national associations, NPOs, think tanks and thought leadership organizations.  We are working hard to change the perception of what a “conferencing” company has to be.  Check out some of the recent blogs from our CEO, Marc Gutman.  He is probably the best at articulating what is exciting to the Lighthouse Team.  We think Virtual Events are cool and are excited about them.

This is all great for us.  We are pumped to be working with the types of companies we are currently working with, and talking to the kind of potential clients we have been meeting with.  But, the real question is not meant for us.  It is meant for our clients.  We have gotten into the habit recently of really asking, “What are you excited about moving forward?”.  That has created a whole new level of excitement!  Marc again outlines why we are really into working with our customer’s Big Ideas in this blog and this one.  And when we ask that question during a conversation with clients or prospects?  Man, we get some great insight into their Big Ideas.  We also get to hear the excitement in their voices!  Maybe it is just me, but it is just an awesome experience to hear people get genuinely excited about “work”.  They get genuinely excited about what their team is doing, and the part they play in the future of their organizations, – whether it be a global corporation, a national association, or smaller technology firm that wants to change the world – one big idea at a time.

The focus at Lighthouse Conferencing has always been on the client.  Previously, we focused on the day to day needs of our client and the need for a reliable conferencing solution.  Over the last several months, that focus has shifted as our clients have grown.  We have seen the need for larger virtual events, as our client’s need to spread their big ideas has increased.  Our clients are realizing that “just good enough” is actually hurting their ability to express their excitement about the next big thing coming from their organization.

I tend to think about this like a party.  Like hosting the biggest party you have ever had to celebrate something major in your life.  To this point, inviting a few friends over for some cocktails and snacks has been good enough.  You have hosted the party for your team’s big game.  You have hosted a “Cards Against Humanity” night.  Your preparation was limited, but you knew it would be fun (and work).  Now, you are turning 21, or 30, or 60.  You just got engaged.  You just started your own company!  Does a few cocktails and snacks work for that type of event?  Is your excitement really shining through with a cooler full of domestic lagers and a plate full of mini-souffles?  Probably not!  This party needs to be planned, you need to make sure that it covers everything your guests expect, but also is a statement of your excitement for what is going on!  That’s where Lighthouse Conferencing comes in handy as your “white glove party planner”.  We are here to make sure your big idea, and the excitement around that idea, are not muted by a subpar solution…muted by the idea that the casual get together you are used to hosting can work for 200 people.

Our clients are always moving forward.  They are always coming up with new and creative solutions in industries like manufacturing, banking, and technology.  And they are excited about growth and opportunity!  When we ask them “what are you most excited about” we see them perk up.  They talk a bit faster, they add a few hyperboles in there, and they make sure we are listening.  The one thing I have to ask here is, “When this type of idea comes around, do you really want to throw the same old party to show it off to the world?”.  Probably not!  In fact if you have had the need to host the big party, and went with the regular get together in the past, let us know about it in the comments below.

Looking to introduce your big idea to the world?  Let’s talk about doing it with virtual events!
