The question should almost be, “what types of calls DON’T need a reservationless audio conference calling platform?”. That’s how commonplace it is in today’s business climate for people to jump on an impromptu conference call using their reservationless audio account. While not every call you make, or every call you attend, will require a resless audio account…let’s take a closer look at the most popular types of calls that utilize a reservationless audio conference calling platform.
We’ve all been on them. Usually weekly, but sometimes even daily….the team roundup call. Often times it’s a Sales or Marketing roundup, but really it’s any department’s team meeting for the weekly pow-wow. And more often than not there are colleagues scattered around the country, or internationally as well, that need to get on this call. That’s why these calls are a perfect fit for a reservationless audio conference calling solution. Your weekly calendar invite has the toll free dial-in number, passcode and meeting time and that’s all you need to get everyone together quickly and easily. Need to record the call because Jake is taking (another) vacation? No sweat. A simply keypad command later and you’ll be emailing Jake the .mp3 file for him to listen to while his feet are in the sand. (You thought you were gonna skip this one, didnt you Jake?).
Client Meetings/Sales Presentations
You and a few members of your team have been working on this presentation for weeks and today’s the day to present it to your biggest prospect! With all the effort you put into it are you really going to try and conference everyone together Total Phone style? (If you didn’t grow up in the early 90’s with Total Phone it was literally the best thing that happened to a teenager). Putting nostalgia aside….no, you’re going to provide your prospect a toll free way to join your presentation. And if you plan to really knock it out of the park you’re going to have a visual component to your presentation using a killer web conferencing tool. But we’ll get into that a little later in this post. Your sales pitch is going to be heard loud and clear by your (soon to be) new client because you delivered it on a crystal clear reservationless audio account with Lighthouse Conferencing!
Board Calls/Committee Meetings
These calls are perfect for reservationless audio conference calling not only because it’s a super easy way to connect everyone, but because of how affordable it is and the value-add with awesome features to enhance the meeting. Our clients like to record custom greetings so when their participants dial in they are greeted with a friendly message specific to that organization. They also take advantage of features like “Roll Call” or “Name Announce”, where a participant records their name before entering the meeting room and it gets announced after they enter. It’s small features like those that our clients love and there are tons more that we’ll save for a future post. Plus, a ton of our associations, non-profits and similar organizations have a number of different committees and boards that meet remotely each week. So each Committee, for example, will have a reservationless audio account set up specifically for their usage. That means when the invoice arrives each month there is a clear breakdown of each Committee’s usage and if any bill-back needs to occur those figures can quickly and easily be determined. That level of account customization is key!
Reservationless Audio For Webinars
This is the one that most webinar hosts forget about and I think it’s a major (major!) mistake….and here’s why. Webinars are big right now and they’re happening more often than ever. That’s because the technology around web conferencing has vastly improved over the past 5 years and has become easier to use, more reliable, and cheaper believe it or not. However, what most people don’t usually focus on is the audio. They’re so wrapped up in the PowerPoint they’re going to show, or the video they’re going to stream, or how their hair looks for the webcam that they forget about arguably the most important part….how it’s going to sound for your attendees!
There’s two ways to go when it comes to the audio portion of your webinar. You can have everyone connect via VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol), which we all now is vulnerable due to its dependency on the host’s bandwidth, or you can use a reservationless audio conference calling account and provide a dial in number so people can hear your presentation the way it was meant to be heard. Will the VoIP option work? Sure….maybe….probably….it could. But you never know. If the hosts internet goes down then the webinar is over. No video, no audio….and by the time you’re back up and running 1 minute later everyone is gone and they’re not coming back. Now think about if you had used a dial in number for the audio of your webinar. Not only are your attendees having a better experience because they can hear your presentation with crystal clear audio, but when that same internet issue occurs and you drop your video portion you still have your attendees on the audio portion and you can tell them to hang on for 1 minute while you get back up and running. That right there is the difference between bad luck (video goes down) and a catastrophe (audio and video go down) for a webinar host. Especially if the host is selling something with a call to action at the end!
There ya have it folks! The growing trend of reducing our carbon footprint by traveling less for meetings and utilizing reservationless audio conference calling is here to stay.
